Las Vegas, NV – July 29, 2024—Virtue Recovery Center is proud to announce the launch of its new LGBTQIA+ Affirming Program, designed to provide specialized and compassionate care for LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking recovery. This innovative program will be led by Adam Parker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with seven years of extensive experience in social work, community mental health, and acute psychiatric settings.

Adam Parker brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep personal commitment to his role at Virtue Recovery Center. As a queer male in recovery, Adam understands the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals. With extensive experience working with adults in various mental health and substance use settings and volunteering with LGBTQIA+ at-risk youth, he is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and affirming environment for all participants. His trauma-informed approach ensures that everyone he serves feels understood, valued, and empowered on their path to healing.

LGBTQIA+ Program Overview

The LGBTQIA+ Affirming Program at Virtue Recovery Center is tailored to meet the specific needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. It combines substance use disorder (SUD) topics with LGBTQIA+ issues, ensuring a comprehensive approach to recovery. The program includes:

Over the past seven years, Adam has worked in various settings, including community mental health centers and acute psychiatric hospitals. Adam’s work with community members and officials has consistently focused on creating inclusive and effective services.
